Hi! My name is Alan Cartwright, known as Russell to my friends. I live in Sandbach, Cheshire and work as an Interior Trim Engineer at Bentley Motors Limited in Crewe. I'm 41 years old, reasonably healthy and very proud to be representing the Breast Cancer Campaign Charity.

So what am doing to help? Firstly my aim is to run and complete both the Bupa Great North Run in September then through hard training and alot of determination, compete in the ING New York Marathon in November.

Having supported Cancer Charities in the past because of my brother's battle and subsequent success in overcoming Bone Cancer I decided last November to help the Breast Cancer Campaign with another challenge having read stories of other people's plight against this disease.

This year I intend to achieve the double in completing two Hard Running Experiences which will test both my physical abilities and mental attitude towards ultimately success in New York. In addition to this A Black Tie Ball will be held at Legends, Bentley Motors Limited in October, the month which nationally the Charity will hold their Awareness Month. Eleven months in the planning, hundreds of hours of painstaking commitment has finally set up a night which promises to be an enjoyable night for those attending.

With support of my partner Sarah, Family, Friends and Yourself I will be committed to achieving everything which I want to be a success.
